About Me

My photo
Texas Girl
I have always loved to cook. There have been times in my life when I did very little cooking, but now things seem to be looking up in the kitchen. This blog is mostly a food diary just for me. I have always wanted to organize my recipes into some useful form. Writing a cookbook is too much trouble, and I seldom use a cookbbook any more. Maybe I can share some old favorites and some new favorites. My food preferences are pretty basic and usually pretty spicy. My job involved teaching food safety and also nutrition, and I will include food safety information in the blog from time to time. Some recipes lend themselves to modification to reduce sodium and/or fat, while others will not. Cooking from scratch is where the fun is, but I am not opposed to convenience foods. We'll see how this goes!
